Adhesive Test Jig and Anchor Plate
This Adhesive Test Jig and Anchor Plate were developed to enable the testing of adhesives or other uncured coatings.
The process is as follows:
- Thread up to 5 pull stubs into the base of the Adhesive Test Jig.
- Apply the adhesive or coating to be tested to several pull stubs (up to 5 at a time).
- Place the coated pull stubs face-to-face with the uncoated stubs resting in the Adhesive Test Jig, effectively "sandwiching" the adhesive or coating between the stubs.
- Tighten the nuts on the top of the Adhesive Test Jig until the desired pressure is applied while the adhesive or coating cures.
- Remove the pull stubs from the Adhesive Test Jig after the adhesive or coating has cured and thread one end into the Anchor Plate.
- Attach a piston to the threads of the pull stub protruding from the Anchor Plate and use the PATTI as usual.
- When separation occurs, the PATTI will display the Burst Pressure of your adhesive or coating, and this is easily converted to tensile strength using the piston conversion charts.
